I ve been having some issues in my mouth, and it feels like the roof of my mouth is swollen? And I can feel something that feels like a flap a little bit down my throat area. And now I noticed I have a hole in the right side of my mouth near my tonsil? It is very uncomfortable and I ve been in a panic about it a day now. I can eat and drink, everything goes down, but it feels like the roof of my mouth is low, there s something that feels like a flap in my throat, and there is a hole. Please help me..

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swelling at the roof of the mouth and tonsil which seems to be due to recurring inflammation and it leads to dilated or tortuous veins that leads appearance over tonsils and giving swelling symptoms of root of mouth as well.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper rest and do warm saline gargles several times a day. Take ibuprofen for pain and swelling. Avoid sharp and spicy food and maintain complete oral hygiene. Visit ENT specialist once if symptoms keeps on persisting and start proper course of antibiotics and antiinflammatory medications. Drink plenty of fluids an d apply orabase gel on roof of mouth.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
