What Causes Swelling Behind Ear At Base Of Skull?

my husband has a swelling behind his left ear at base of skull. the area of swelling is about 5 cm with a firm centre of around 2.5 cm, after cutting his hair yesterday it is now very noticeable without having to feel for it. He has seen a Dr who said that is was soft tissue damage [?] but he also has a constant headache with it as well. He wants to go back and ask for tests to be done; MRI or CT? but I prefer him to see someone else for an opinion.

it can be lymph node or mastoid gland invovment. she should be subjected to related investigatio and investigation.clinical examination can help in diagnosis.
