General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

New borns have very sensitive skin and are just getting used to the harsh environment. The swelling will most certainly come down and heal completely. Some babies experience bleeding for a while longer than older humans. All this normal and there is no cause for concern.

Best wishes.
