What Causes Swelling From Hip To Legs?

Hi, my mother has swelling from the hip down both legs. She continues to doc after doc, specialists after specialists. They have no idea why the swelling will not go down. They put a shank in the leg, she has been in oxygen tanks, they debris her legs about twice a month. Still the swelling will not go away. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think this swelling may be caused by lymph-edema, enlarged lymph vessels. There is no certain cure for it but using compression socks is advisable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
