Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries I can understand your concern. Crystal meth is one of commonly abused injectable psychoactive substance. The drug causes a lot of side effects and result in significant injuries to injury sites. Some times during injections inadvertent penetration of blood occurs which result in injury to blood vessels which got inflamed and results in thrombophlebitis. This results in swelling, redness and pain at injection site and also in affected arm. So I would advise you to not to take meth injections in future because thrombophlebitis may get complicated into a number of complications. For pain I would advise you to take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen with proper prescription. The drug will help to reduce the pain and inflammation. Heparin containing creams like Thrombophobe cream when applied locally help in early resolution of symptoms and is very helpful in reducing thrombophlebitis.
