What Causes Swelling In Arm?

Hello-I was cooking and standing for about three hours at a pancake breakfast,and my left arm became swollen,I am right handed so I was doing all the work with my right hand.What could have caused my left arm to swell?It went away about 30 minutes after I stop cooking and walked around a bit.
