What Causes Swelling In Between The Forearm And Triceps?
Hi - my son came home from work with L arm swelling from mid forearm to lower tricep . It is not painful and yet there is visual deformity especially at elbow. He lifted weights last week and yesterday and says triceps feel a little tight.could this just be a tricep strain?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling in between the forearm and triceps. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like injury , carpal tunnel syndrome , hypothyroidism , vein thrombosis lipoma , soft tissue injury or lymphedema. Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper diagnosis and treatment if condition doesn't get well . Doctor may order CT scan along with physical therapy along with particular stretching exercises . Doctor may also recommend anti inflammatory or antibiotics for infection. Doctor may refer you to allergy specialist for allergic reaction or dermatologist fir lipoma , who may recommend liposuction . I would suggest you to keep your arm in hot water tub with epsom salt for 15 minutes daily , give your hand proper rest , and keep your hand elevated while lying down .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
