What Causes Swelling In Bottom Lip?

my bottom lip started swelling at 3:30 today. This is the 6th time in 10 weeks. My dr says probably an allergy but I cannot figure out to "what"? each time it happens it is different. could be the top right side or the bottom left side, today it is the entire bottom lip, worse this time around. When I feel the tingling start I immediately take a benedryl tablet. I have also taken pictures every time. suggestions?

i Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your have symptoms swelling in bottom lip due to allergic reation caused by food item, some medication, an insect bite leading to deeper inflammation and accumulation of inflammatory exudation in the lip causing formation of a swelling. this condition is known as angioedema. Allergy can be against some exogenous material like pollen, dust, cold, cosmetic etc. A clinical assessment is required to assess the swelling. I would suggest you to visit dermatologist and get it examined. Apply cold compressors. Do not apply pressure over the swellings. Take antihistamines such as allegra or benadryl to fasten relief. Drink plenty of water.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
