What Causes Swelling In Calf With Closer Veins?

I am 22 yrs old, and about 100lbs. The past couple of weeks i have noticed my calf on my left leg swells up after a long day at work, especially on the inner most side (side facing my right leg). lately, i feel discomfort and my left calf looks bigger that my right calf. and the past few days, I noticed my veins are closer to the surface, which was never like that before. I have not had any other health problems- other than sever cramps- due to cysts on my ovaries.
