What Causes Swelling In Eyes?

Hi, My left eye got swollen 2 months ago. I thought it would be a normal eye infection and would go away in few days automatically. But then after few days also the situation was same. 1 week before i went to a chemist to get some advise, he gave me an eye drop and a ointment. I applied it for 5 days however, the situation has become more worse. Today I went to an eye specialist and he told me which shocked me and never thought the situation could be so extreme. Doctor said - The swelling is in the extreme stage and now medication might not help, if it doesnt then the liquid/puss will be operated and will be removed. Now I am on this medication (Flozen AA + Moxikind-cv 625mg + Mahaflox eye drops IP 5ml + Hot Fomentation). Please advice. Is the situation so worse?

you should have consulted eye doctor from beginning. now the doctor after local examination has said it to be abscess. it is to be drained. you have to follow the advise or have a review with other doctor.
