What Causes Swelling In Foot And Ankle?

I have had a swelling of ONE foot and ankle for approximately five years now. Drs. of checked for blood clots and prescribed ted Hose types of socks that did not work. About a year ago I went in to and had my veins closed via lazer surgery. This did not improve the foot and ankle swelling at all. I am 44 years old and would like to know what my next step is for finding out what the problem is.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such swelling may not be due to blood circulation disturbances but this could be due to some systemic disease, and this could be cardiovascular disease, renal disease endocrine dysfunction and all these need to be differentiated, hope this information helps, take care.
