What Causes Swelling In Knees And Burning Sensation In Hamstring?

My knee has been bothering me for about a year. My Dr. says arthritis and would not order an xray until I had several weeks of therapy. My knee swells up. the lower part of my hamstring burns sometimes, I feel something wiggle in it, experience pain and stiffness, and particularly the inside, or medial part of my knee just under the skin. My therapist thought it was an inflamed bursa, and a different Dr. called it an MCL. I don t think arthritis wiggles, and my kneecap is slightly off to the outside of my knee. My Dr. won t order an MRI. I think he put the cart before the horse. I m older, have a couple of jobs to stay off the taxpayer rolls, and therapy co-pay is $40 a visit, 2-3 times a week, I can t even afford the 2/wk I did.
