What Causes Swelling In Left Tonsil After Having Oral Unprotected Sex?

I have been having oral sex with my boyfriend unprotected for the last week, and i swallow. I know he does not have STD's but it seems that my left tonsil is swollen a bit because the left side behind my jaw has a small swollen bump. I'm pretty sure its my left tonsil. Hurts to swallow just a bit concerned of why it'd suddenly become slightly irritated?! help??

Hi,

Even if your boyfriend does not have STDs, oral sex can transmit other bacterial and viral infections which has caused your tonsils to get enlarged and become swollen. It is part of the immune mechanism and you might be having a sore throat. Maintain good oral hygiene and gargle twice a day.
