General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the swelling legs when diagnosed with typhoid fever can be related to multiple reasons as

- low levels of protein and vitamins ( from dietary restrictions of typhoid etiology and low appetite by basic pathology of small intestine )

- separate entity as thyroid disorder or other endocrinopathy

- drug related side effect of some sort causing fluid retention with skin rash appearance.

However, if you can provide her available reports of lab. for further correspondence better guidelines can be figured out ahead. Awaiting for your response.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
