What Causes Swelling In Legs While Suffering From Chronic UTI S And Renal Artery Stenosis?

I am a 38 year old female that has had chronic hypertension since I was 9. I was also diagnosed with renal artery stenosis, but was later told it had opened on its on. I have chronic UTI s and consistantly have reoccurring infections, or at least it feels like infections, although they only detect blood in my urine, but no sign of infection. I have swelling in my feet and legs all the time, and my feet turn red while standing. I m very tired all the time and heavy headed also. My blood pressure fluctuates regularly. I m currently on procardia xl twice a day, and clonidine as needed. What could be causing all of these symptoms I m having? Lately, I have no energy, and I ache all the time. Any feedback would be appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It seems like the edema is originating from kidney insufficiency. I think you should consult a nephrologist,do a biochemical blood balance, creatinine clearance, protein levels and blood electrolytes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
