Hi I am a 31 year old female, I noticed a swelling on my right side on my mons pubic area, it is not red or don t not hurt, it is a little tender, I don t have any fever or any other sign it might be an infection, when I push on it, it just feels like a bunch of fluid, above this I do have a lot of pain an was told I have a right ovarian cyst 3cm, do you think this coule be the cause of my swelling in my mons pubic area?
A lump or swelling in the mons pubis region could possibly be related to a hair follicle inflammation or infection and I would not really worry much about it. These appear due to either constant friction caused from inner wear, shaving the region, waxing the region, or when the pubic hair is grown too long and gets pulled due to the friction from the clothes.
Just make sure you maintain good hygiene in the region, change your inner wear regularly, take 2-3 showers a day with lukewarm water, do not try bursting the lump, apply warm compresses to the region either directly or indirectly (over your clothes) and try to take sitz bathes with epsom salt several times a day.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
