What Causes Swelling In Mouth And Painful Swallowing?

My husband s bottom part (under mouth) is swollen. It hurts him to swallow or move his tongue.. Also, he has a random blood vessel under his tongue that is popping out. He had a salivary gland stone about 10 years ago and it caused a little hole then, but yellow pus is coming out of it now. We went to the er and they said probably another stone and took xrays.. They said they couldn t see the stone but most of the time it doesn t come up on xrays. We have tried everything and he is in so much pain....Could this be something else? If not, any ideas to help it come out faster? We have tried the salt water, lemon, hot compressions, massaging under his chin...

Thanks for your query...as per your history you are a case of sialolithisis and if the stone/gland is not removed than it might have been secondarily infected....also one should rule out the possibility of ludwig's angina clinically......i suggest you undergo x-ray / USG salivary glands with a course of IV antibiotics and if required then surgical intervention....See an ent doctor at the earliest .....hope you got the answer.
