What Causes Swelling In My Middle Finger?

My left hand, middle finger started to become numb. I looked and the side of my finger was swelling in one spot, turning blue in color. No injury at all, no bug bite. I was just finishing up a 20 min brisk walk. I did elevate, ice, and sit down. It seems to be subsiding. Thoughts on cause and do I need to see a Dr. Immediately or can it wait till tmrw?

Hello,

It may be due to blunt trauma.

For further assessment you may require X Ray after orthopedician consultation.

You may require splint after consultation.

Till then for pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Avoid finger movements

Hope I have answered your query..
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shyam Kale
