What Causes Swelling In Neck And Thyroid Along With Low Grade Fever?

I have swelling in the front of my neck,,,in the thyroid area,,,no other swollen glands,,, low grade fever,,,CT scan negative,,,awaiting blood test results,,,,It was golfball sized,,,after zpack and large amts of Ibuprophin now walnut sized,,,soreness abating,,,,,came on last Wednesday after a hard workout in the gym,,,,bench presses with 40 lb duumbells

Hi there.

This could be Hashimoto thyroiditis or Subacute thyroiditis. Inflammation of the Thyroid gland or lymph nodes even can be associated with fever in some cases. Perform tepid sponging to control the fever. Take Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for the fever and pain. Hey an ENT checkup to rule out infected lymph node.
