What Causes Swelling In The Ankle Along With Breathlessness?
I have no heart trouble as have been tested this year and tests were fine. I have COPD but it is controlled by inhalers and oxygen at night. The past two weeks, I have had problems of shortness of breath and swelling in my ankles and feet. I went to my MD and he said my sodium was very low and not to take diuretics any more than necessary. Three years ago I was found to have a blockage in my upper left leg and I had it corrected. An aneurism developed and when they fixed it, all the blood drained into my leg and caused it to be bruised and twice it s size for several months. I am left using a cane and having this problem. What can I do to help this condition. My cardiologist can find no problem.
The ankle swelling is not related to breathlessness. Consult an orthopaedic and get an MRI scan done. As of now, you can apply ice packs for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
