What Causes Swelling In The Ankle And Knees While On Heart Medication?

my mother is 82yrs old she is on heart meds and addvan and ability 3 month ago her feet started to swell then her ankle them to the knees now to the hips she is in assisted living and sees dr once a month have not got to talk to dr because i live an hour away r n does not give much info just elevate legs and decrease salt this is not a salt problems he als has alzheimer

Hello,

The heart condition itself causes tissues to retain more of water and the swelling could be due to that. You should bring this in the notice and discuss with your cardiologist most of the times its benign.
