What Causes Swelling In The Ankle While Suffering From Psoriasis?

My husband has psoriasis, I m not sure that has anything to do with this or not. Anyway, his shin has a red area, it is warm, and has bumps. Bumps under the skin. It is tender to touch. His ankle is swollen. However, he feels fine, no fever, no shortness of breath, nothing. Just the leg is painful. This has been going on for about a week. The lumps and the soreness has moved from the inside of his shin to the outside and the skin peels. Is this a psoriasis issue or something else?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to an inflammatory reaction.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
