Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My ankle just swelled up last night. It started out as a small pain and just started to swell and got worse till I went to bed. Took IBUprofen and the swelling has went down this morning. Only activity, I did stationary bike for 30 miles, yes miles, other than that at desk most of the day.
Dera unilateral ankle swelling may be due to infection or dependent edema due decreased venous return or or ankle sprain or plantar fasciitis etc.Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Elevate the limb, use tender massage. use tablet cold and warm compression.Wear compression stockings. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
