What Causes Swelling In The Armpits And Pain In The Breasts?

Hi, my armpits swell up really bad and I sweat all the time rather I am hot or cold doesnt matter. It gets painful in my breast area beside my armpits and sometimes the pain shoots down my arms. This has been going on since I was 13 years old, I am 30 now. Pain is worse with caffeine, stress, but still is present in times of joy.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a swollen lymph node.

We have to rule out other possibilities like hidradenitis.

Consult a general practitioner and start a short course of antibiotics,

Generally the symptoms will settle with antibiotics.

If persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
