What Causes Swelling In The Calf Muscles, Ankles And Forefeet?
Dear Sir, I am 56 yrs old, Mumbai, India. I have swelling of calf muscles, ankles and forefeet. There is a pain in the bone just below the right knee if I try to walk, there is pain in the knee caps also - besides my hip bones also pain a bit if I am in one posture for long time. The swelling subsides considerably, if I sleep for more time and take rest. The pain aggravates if I walk more or strain my legs, other wise the pain is very minimal. Sometimes I am not able to be seated on the ground / surface with my cross heel and calf muscles touching the floor.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, possibility of severe osteoporosis and muscle weakness is more likely. So consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination and x ray of both knees. You may need bilateral knee replacement surgery and physiotherapy on the basis of x ray report. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
