What Causes Swelling In The Clitoris After Intercourse?

I had intercourse last night, particularly rough intercourse , the next morning when I a whole I noticed that my clitoris looked really swollen I obviously stated messing with it and I realized that I had a hard lump on the left side of my clitoris it s about a inch or so long and it s as it the lump is spilt in half into too , it s painful when I do apply pressure to it with my fingertips.. It s not like a boil or a pimple , there is not white head to it, it s under the skin but swollen and hard. Any idea as too what this may be? I m sexually active with the same partner I have been with for a year. In currently 16 weeks and 2 days pregnant. This is my second day having this larger lump and I m starting to worry about it.. Its not growing bigger it s staying the same since it has appeared there but it is very annoying and affecting me negatively ..

Hi,

I would think of this to be edema due to rough intercourse.
But since you are pregnant it is very important to know the exact diagnosis.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Gynecologist immediately to have proper examination for clinical diagnosis and have confirmation by high-resolution ultrasonography of the affected area so that an appropriate management can be done to have no further complications.,
Till then you can apply liquid povidone iodine locally to avoid secondary infection.
Do not fondle the area as it can spread the edema, inflammation and infection.
