What Causes Swelling In The Feet And Ankle After Tooth Extraction?

I had a front upper tooth extracted due to internal resorption a week ago. There had been infection & I was on antibiotics prior to the extraction. Some infection remained & they gave me another round of antibiotics when they pulled the tooth. Now my ankles & feet are swelling. My hands are not swelling. I m not sure what s going on.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain swelling in feet and ankle after tooth extraction is not commonly seen and only one possibility that can cause such swelling can be side effect or allergic reaction to the medication..

As swelling in feet and ankle can be related to certain causes related to kidney and heart issues, therefore it has to be taken care of and should be treated accordingly..

I would suggest you to consult a Medicine Specialist and get a thorough evaluation done and in case if medication is not ruled out to be the culprit certain investigations will be advised to you to rule out the cause..
As of now you should keep pillows under the legs while lying down to raise the feet and legs as it can help in reducing edema..

Hope this information helps.

Thanks and regards..
