What Causes Swelling In The Feet While Exercising?

Top of feet are swelling mainly during heavy exercise with some discomfort, applying ice and raising the feet help. I am 68 and I do have a pacemaker due to left bundle branch blockage and a severe lowing of the heart rate (installation was 2 1/2 years ago).

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Swelling is due to dependant odema(fluid accumulating in the soft tissue).
In your case, applying ice in not suitable. It is useful only in acute trauma.
Please avoid exertion
