What Causes Swelling In The Feet While On Detrol?

I am now on detrol 2 mg -1 in Am and 1 in PM- and my feet are swollen all the time. I have not discussed this with my PCP yet. Can this be a side effect of the drug. This and iron pills are the only new drugs I am now taking. Could the swelling be caused by either drug?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
you haven't specified your age and other parameters like your hemoglobin BP, blood sugar levels and the duration of your treatment.
Detrol will along with curing your incontinence also result in some undesirable anti cholinergic side effects.
the swelling in your feet could be due to dysuria or anemia with a sluggish circulation.
get a kidney function test done to rule out any electrolyte imbalance. get a BP check and an echocardiography to rule out the cardiac reasons.
In the meantime put your feet up and restrict the water intake. Also exercise regularly and lose weight if you are overweight.
