What Causes Swelling In The Feet While On Treatment For Sleep Apnea?

I recently started cpap for sleep apnea. Tonight would be night 4. I noticed though that my feet and ankles have swollen up. They were not like this prior to treatment. Is this an adverse reaction, common side effect or something Ishykd be heading to the er for.

Hello,

No, as far I know CPAP doesn't cause swelling. But if you are going for cardiac failure due to any other reason then you might be having this kind of bilateral pedal edema. So kindly you should visit any physician for examination for pedal edema. In the online consultation, there are some restrictions since we can't examine the patient.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
