Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swelling In The Groin Area After A Total Hip Replacement Surgery?
I am62 years and a little swelling on the right side of groin area. when I clear my throat it gets a little larger. I haD a total hip replacement back in june of 2015. I do not know if I should tell the prthopedic surgent about this or my doctor. I am concerned about this. please give me some advice.
I would recommend a visit to any of the doctors you are comfortable with, but depending on the location I would worry about a hernia, especially if it is around the region of the incision, which I am doubting at this point because the access made for a hip replacement is usually around the upper thigh/hip region. So as there can be confusion through an online consultation, the cause could be easily established through a physical examination, so please do consider visiting your doctor.
Best wishes.
