What Causes Swelling In The Gums & Cheeks?

About a week ago I came down with what I though was a common cold but on Thursday I woke up with a 101.3 degree fever which was really high for me as I usually am at 97.6, and some swelling on the right side of my neck. The next morning I woke up and the fever was gone but I have these little whitish yellow bumps on my tongue and swollen gums and cheeks. I have been looking desperately online for an answer but every post I find a doctor has told them something different. Help
