General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Sounds to be related to possible thrombophlebitis at the intra cath insertion site during surgery and for postoperative IV dosages.

Primary relief with ice application and ointment containing thrombophobe, with the assistance of the surgeon for antibiotic and anti-inflammatory prescription to prevent secondary bacterial infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
