What Causes Swelling In The Hand?

My boyfriends hand is consistently swelling and I m not sure what else to do , he refuses to go to the hospital and I would just like to know is there anything else I can do before it get too bad , he may have fractured something inside of his hand , I don t believe it s broken

first of all you can ask him about history related to this swelling e.g. whether any accident/fall/any injury to his hand in past or not. then check for movement of all fingers, wrist, arm and forearm of that hand so that u can get idea of any fracture or creak,,, if there is pain or movement is not normal u should go for x ray of hand,,, for checking any fracture or creak,,, u can take anti inflammatory medicines like brufen/combiflam to relieve pain and swelling at present,,,,
