My hands mostly and my feet some, get really red and swollen. My fingers like sausages, and I ve stopped ibuprofen and had my pharmacists go over all my other medications for a cause/ interaction. I see a doctor at least once a month for medication management and after two years still no answer...what can be causing this? I ve tried eliminating environmental factors, soaps, household cleansers, diet....
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If your hands and feet are swollen and they also look a little bluish and cold and if this is mostly when it is cold or in contact with cold water than this is a phenomenon known as Raynauld phenomena. Most of the times we do not find a cause for it but sometimes it can be related to certain conditions like autoimmune disease. It is important that you talk with your doctor on the possibility of these diagnosis and have the proper checks.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
