What Causes Swelling In The Hands?

I just talked with my daughter and she was sick with diarrhea and fatigue for the past couple of days. She mostly slept as her way to take care of herself. She said she feels better today and has eaten better but, her hands are swollen. She is Gluten intolerant but, doesn t think she was sick from that this time. Any idea why the swelling and does she need to be concerned or will it correct itself now that she is up and moving?

The symproms seems to be related to an allergic reaction.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
-use antihistamines daily
-If she dont get better she should take prescribed corticosteroids
