What Causes Swelling In The Left Leg Post A Gall Bladder Removal Surgery?
Hello. I am 22 years old. I had an emergency surgery to have my gall bladder removed 2 months ago. 2 weeks after surgery I got staph in the wounds. It went away 2 weeks later. Ever since then, I have been having extreme pain and swelling in my left leg and lower back. There is a lump on my shin (squishy not hard) and it is discolored and purple from the lump down to my ankle. There is also a small indention between the lump and my ankle. I ve been doing tests for 3 weeks and still no answers. I ve done an X-ray to see a fracture, no fracture. I ve done a venous Doppler on my leg, it came back normal. The pain is so bad I am having trouble sleeping at night. It goes numb/tingles at random times of the day, but always hurts. Idk what to do anymore
The intense pain with swelling in the leg in the presence of normal doppler can be possible soft tissue blood collection or hematoma with secondary nerve compression presentation.
It is the best method to get a soft tissue ultrasound with or without MRI of the concerned area for best evaluation and care ahead.
If interested can turn back for further assistance in this regard.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
