What Causes Swelling In The Lip?

Not sure what it is but my bottom lip left side is swollen. I had a white hard spot thinking it was like a under skin pimple I tried piercing it with a pin and squeezing but nothing came out. Bled a lil bit not much. Not long after my lip is swollen and hurts. Was bigger when I got up this morning but as the day passed it has gone down. I have put ice on it but still hurts and swollen. What could it be or what should I do.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain swelling of bottom lip along with a hard white spot can be due to any bug bit that has bitten your lip while it can also be due to infection of the lip..

Consult a Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical investigation has to be done..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin along with anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and anti-histamies like Allegra and topical application of antibiotic ointment..
Along with it do cool compresses over the lip..
Avoid licking and biting the lip..
