What Causes Swelling In The Lower Right Side Of The Jaw?
hello dr. David. my entire lower right side of my jaw is so swollen I can't eat or even close my mouth. it's very painful so I took 2 naproxen 500mg and it helps a little with the pain but the swelling isn't diminishing at all and I took them 3 hours ago. could eating cannabis edibles or a tincture help with the swelling or what else can I try without having to go to a clinic or hospital sine I do not have insurance.
Swelling on left side of face can be due to causes like any deeply decayed tooth that can be abscessed, problem associated with the wisdom tooth leading to Pericoronitis [inflammation of gum flap].
So my suggestion is to consult a Dentist and get evaluated and a clinical examination should be done..
If it is due to any decayed tooth then treatment of the tooth or extraction can help.. If there is wisdom tooth related problem then medication followed by removal of wisdom tooth will help in permanent resolution..
For now take antibiotics like Augmentin and anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen. Do cool compresses over the swelling..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
