What Causes Swelling In The Lymph Nodes?

Hi Dr.! I have seen a 23 year old female who appears in excellent health, denies any flu or virus within the last month or more. She is afebrile, excersizes by lifting weights and playing soccer. On neck exam no noted lymphnode edema, her thyroid seems to move easily. no sore throat or difficulty swallowing. She points to her left anterior neck along her sternocleidomastoid. I had her take 400 mg of Ibuprofen TID for 5 days with no improvement but no worsening either. I told her she would need to find a physician to do some labs for her thyroid as she does not have a doctor at this time. Is there anything that sticks out to you besides thyroid check? My email is YYYY@YYYY i am the campus nurse. Thank you so much for listening, Teri Sabers RN
