What Causes Swelling In The Lymph Nodes?

24 yr old female with swollen lymph nodes on left side of neck and behind ear. 4or 5 pea size bumps on left side of head ( a bit flatter than peas) .achiness and burning sensation from neck down into the left shoulder and into upper arm. Any ideas what this could be? Dr prescribed an anti-biotic today for possible infection...

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The swollen lymphnodes or lymphadenopathy can be secondary to any infection in and around the ears like infection in the ear, parotid gland or scalp. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. You can continue the course of antibiotics. If it is not subsiding even after taking medicines, then get an ultrasound and FNAC done to confirm the diagnosis.
