What Causes Swelling In The Perineum?

I get very swollen up in my perineum. It swells up when sexual arousement is happening (with the mere thought of sex) even way before and after erection, like a second horizontal erection all the way up to behind my testicles. It s quite impressive and alarming specially when I do the frog like crouching. It moves a lot when I do kegels or when ejaculating. With the kegels it usually disappears but then comes back. The doctor said I was swollen and gave me alpha bloquers but said no more and I think I have chronic prostatis (leakage after pissing when I bend down, sometimes pain behind the rectum, sometimes pain with bowel movement, or when sitting down for long periods, etc.) but this swelling up of the perineum is not found in other prostatis cases. I didn t have a perineum injury and no infections either, I have done the exams. Could it be the consequences of too much sex. I don t want to get chopped up or lose my penis or my fertility, specially since we re trying for a baby. I need help, please!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

At this area it may indicate several issues and most common are fistulas or perianal abscesses. These are inflammatory processes in sacral, perineal, and perianal area usually manifested with pain, redness, swelling, fever and pus discharge. Cellulitis is less common and may be present in sacral area as well. This is mostly caused by beta hemolytic streptoccocus and it necessitates antibiotic treatment with augmentin, or combination of ciprinol+ metronidazole. You should also, apply cold compresses, take nonsteroid painkillers such as ibuprofen 400mg and rest. If there is no improvement within 2 days, you should see doctor and have intravenous antibiotics.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
