What Causes Swelling In The Right Leg While On Zetia?
I have who seems to be a find GP as just changed GPs after 15 yrs. I just had a complete blood panel done and all came back fine except cholesterol. I new that would be high because I am allergic to all statins which I had to discontinue the last test sample a few months ago. I finally can afford the generic for Zetia. My blood pressure was high 15 yrs. ago but has been stable since medication for the past 15 yrs. All of a sudden my right leg swells up and is uncomfortable. The only other time this happened is when I was diagnosed with high BP years ago. Yesterday I had a sonogram on both legs including the swollen leg and that came out great, no clots or blockages. My doctor said to stay off salt and use compression hosiery. I am concerned. Could this have anything to do with kidney or anything else I don t know about. 77Yrs old , female, working full time. Maybe need an internist. Patty Bell
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Kidney or heart or liver disease would cause swelling of both feet/legs.
Swelling of one leg/ankle would be related to a condition specific to that particular leg, e.g. arthritis, trauma to the leg, infection, varicose veins, etc.
I hope this helps.
