What Causes Swelling In Throat And Itching On Ears Post Intake Of Alcohol?

Hi, 7 years ago I suddenly developed an intolerance to drinking alcohol and to a lesser degree vinegar based products. Symptoms: ears itch insatiably, throat swells, face and neck get very hot. I have abstained from drinking. I would like to know if I ingest alcohol via Jell-O shots, allowing the liquid to bypass my ears and throat, could I avoid those symtpoms?

It can be an allergic reaction to alcohol. If it is related to allergy, alcohol by any route can provoke the symptoms.
