What Causes Swelling In Upper Eyelid?

What would cause a swollen upper eyelid? It happened on my right eyelid and lasted about 12 hours, then went away. Three days later my left upper eyelid is swollen and has last over twelve hours. The onset was instant and there is no pain, no itching, no discomfort at all. Only a very swollen upper eyelid, primarily in the corner near the nose.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having self limiting swelling of the eyelids.
Since there is no pain, itching or eye discomfort this is unlikely to be related to ocular cause.
Hence systematic c causes need to be ruled out. The common causes are systemic allergies, heart and kidney diseases, anaemia...
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
