What Causes Swelling In Vein Of Knee Joint And Wrists?

Hi sir,...My father Indian aged 78 yrs. having swelling in the vein especially in leg knee joint sometimes hand wrist area... vein will be swelling and also that area will be bulged..
Went to Dr. many times. Physician tested and tells that he is having dificiency in calcium and blood and given medicine.... After taking the tablets again same problems and went to Ortho Dr. and given the following medicines...
Oflomac – 20 mg – morning 1, evening 1
Aceflow p - morning 1, evening 1
Kyrab 10 mg - morning 1, evening 1
But after taking this today morning.. he become so tired and having pain everywhere he has become totally tired... so not taken the night dose...
Last week when he had the same problem and went to hospital that time the Dr. gave below medicine and he was perfectly ok.. pls note the below medicines...
Trialine – 10 mg & Aceflow - 3 days - both taken 3 days... and he was ok...
So could you pls suggest / investigate and give me a answer if u dont mind...
