What Causes Swelling Near Collarbone On Both Sides?

I am 65, in good health but medicated for high BP and mild hypothyroidism. About a month ago I noticed slight swelling near my collarbone on both sides. It doesn t hurt or feel tender. I thought I might be retaining water or depositing fat there. My doctor said she will keep an eye on it if it persists. I will see her again in 3 1/2 weeks. What could this be and should I see her sooner?

Hi thank you for posting your query in HCM.
The swellings are the lymph node swellings. These swellings can occur due to infection or cancer. swellings are movable, soft , tender are characteristics of inflammation and infections. swellings are fixed, non tender, hard and associated with fever, night sweats, chills are characteristics of cancer. Hope i have answered your question if you have further questions . I will be happy to help.
