What Causes Swelling Of Ankles While Suffering From Kidney Stones?
A couple years ago, I was diagnosed with two kidneys stones in the emergency room. I was told to drink lots of water to help them pass because they were small and to follow up with a urologist. I did and was given the same advice. I don t think it passed because I never felt any pain. A year later, I went to the ER with UTI and was told I have one kidney stone and was given some medicine to help open things up to assist me pass it. I think it was a 4mm? Again, I never felt any pain, but I haven t had any urinary problems since. I was never able to follow up with a urologist because I don t have health insurance and can t afford it. Do I need to be concerned that I never felt it pass? Also, I am on my feet a lot during the day and I notice that I get swelling around my ankles that goes away each night. Should I be concerned due to the stones I had?
The stones don't need surgery because they pass by themselves in the ureter and go out. No, I don't think you should be worried about it. Just take a lot of water and follow the urologist's advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
