Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain swelling of lower lip can occur most commonly due to allergic ration caused by some medication or food item or an insect bite leading to deeper inflammation and accumulation of inflammatory exudate in the lip causing formation of a swelling and is known as
ANGIOEDEMA..
It can have a longer duration of resolution till the fluid disperses..
It can also be persistent if the allergen is still present and not removed.
A cap over the tooth doesn't seem to cause such a swelling as it causes swelling in the tooth region..
I would suggest you to consult an oral pathologist and get investigated..
In case of Angioedema antihistamines like
allegra or
benadryl can be taken..
Injectable antihistamines can also be taken for faster action..
Steroid therapy oral and injectable can also help..
Cold compresses can help..
Do not apply pressure over the swellings..
Topical application of
steroids can also be relieving..
Hope your query is solved..
