What Causes Swelling Of Face, eye Watering And Blurred Vision?

My mom had excessive amount of fluid on her pillow when she woke up good morning. Can you tell me y that is? She also woke up with excessive amount of fluid coming out of her eyes as well. She was very swollen in the face and around her eyes. Her vision was blurred. I ve read that is associated with closed angle gluacoma.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I have gone through your mother's health problems and understood your concerns.

The swollen face might be related to possible water retention. Most probable cause might include:
- kidney problems (abdominal ultrasound, kidney function test advised to rule it out)
- liver problems (liver function test advised)
- hypertension (get her blood pressure measured together with further cardiac check ups)

As she is also having fluids coming out from her eyes, then, local eye problems should be ruled out through examination by ophtalmologist and measuring the intraocular pressure.

Hope it was of help!
